Треньорът Душан Керкез реагира мигновено с тройна смяна, пускайки в игра Иван Тасев, Мохамед Брахими и младия национал Петко Панайотов. Именно последните двама се превърнаха в герои за домакините.
В 93-ата минута Панайотов отбеляза впечатляващ гол от пряк свободен удар, а в 97-ата Брахими оформи крайното 3:1 след бърза контраатака.
Въпреки победата напрежението на трибуните остана осезаемо – феновете на ЦСКА скандираха „оставка“ по адрес на старши треньора Душан Керкез.
