По първоначална информация седем коли са ударени, а стените на подлеза са частично разрушени. На място веднага бяха изпратени екипи на полицията, пожарната и Спешна помощ. Районът остава отцепен, а движението е ограничено, докато траят огледите.
От „Столичен електротранспорт“ обявиха, че инцидентът най-вероятно се дължи на външна намеса. Според тях ватманът е спрял трамвая и е задействал ръчната спирачка, след което е излязъл от кабината. Не е ясно как мотрисата е потеглила – дали заради техническа неизправност или поради намеса от страна на външно лице.
„Категорично става въпрос за извънредна ситуация. Ще прегледаме записите от камерите, за да изясним причините“, съобщиха от дружеството.
Жители от района коментираха, че силният удар ги е събудил, а част от тях са видели как трамваят буквално преминава през кръстовището, без да спре.
Очаква се в следващите дни експерти да направят техническа проверка на мотрисата и да бъде изготвен доклад за причините довели до дерайлирането.
